Mohamed Kaba
Assists in victory
Kaba assisted once to go with one shot (one on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 3-0 win over Marseille.
Analysis: Kaba got the nod in an advanced midfield role Saturday and picked up his second assist of the season, threading the key pass to Matthis Abline in the 58th minute that directly set up the third goal before making way for Francis Coquelin in the 69th minute. He brought real bite on the defensive end as well, coming up with multiple key ball wins deep in his own half, including a standout recovery tackle in the 27th minute. That said, he let Nantes' best chance of the first half slip away after going one-on-one with Jeffrey De Lange in the 36th minute and failing to finish.
Option to face Rennes
Kaba (undisclosed) was declared fit to travel with the squad for Sunday's clash against Rennes, according to coach Vahid Halilhodzic, per Ici Loire Ocean. "Mohamed will be able to travel with us."
Analysis: Kaba had missed the PSG fixture with an undisclosed issue, joining a long list of midfield absentees that had left Nantes stretched for options in the engine room. His return to the travelling squad is a welcome development for coach Halilhodzic heading into another important fixture in the club's survival fight, giving him more options to call upon in the middle of the park against Rennes on Sunday.
Remains out
Kaba is out for Wednesday's match against PSG due to an undisclosed injury, according to Franck Le Dorze of L'Equipe.
Analysis: Kaba is one of the numerous midfielders missing for Nantes at the moment, missing the last contest and set to miss out again. Unfortunately, due to the limited numbers, Kaba's absence hurts the depth of the club, leaving Ibrahima Sissoko, Louis Leroux and Johann Lepenant to more than likely start. Kaba will hope to recover soon, taking the field again against Rennes on Sunday.
